The Welimada–Nuwara Eliya road has been reopened as of today (6), restoring a vital transport link after a week-long closure.
The route was blocked on 29 November when a major landslide near the Keppetipola Police Station in Welimada cut off access, prompting extensive recovery efforts.
With the reopening, the flow of supplies and essential goods to Nuwara Eliya has now been restored, ending the disruption caused by the disaster.
